Politics: Hynes to endorse Jehan Gordon in 92nd

From a press release:

PEORIA—Illinois State Comptroller Dan Hynes will join other Democratic leaders on Friday morning at the Peoria Labor Temple to announce his support of the Democratic candidate for State Representative Jehan Gordon.

“I am honored to earn the endorsement of Comptroller Hynes who has been a leader in our state for a number of years,” Gordon said. “Comptroller Hynes and I are committed to ensuring that the Peoria region receives the state services that we need and deserve.”

The details are available at Blog Peoria Press Releases.

Hynes employs Allen Mayer, who lost to Gordon in the primary. In fact, Hynes endorsed Mayer back in November, which isn’t surprising. Two two candidates traded union endorsements, with the Operating Engineers strongly backing Mayer, while the United Auto Workers strongly backed Gordon. No doubt that the setting for this new endorsement is a way to signal that all is forgiven.

Jehan has her campaign HQ in my area of town, but she might as well be the Invisible Woman for all the outreach she is doing – none.
