Local: North Peoria driving just became more difficult

From a press release from Peoria City Hall:

Road construction is scheduled to start on Monday July 21, 2008 at the intersection of Allen Road and Carriage Lane in the City of Peoria. Driving lanes will be reduced down to one lane in each direction while work is being performed for the new installation of traffic signals at this intersection.
Please reduce speeds while traveling through this intersection.

Work is expected to last for approximately one month. If you have questions regarding this, contact the City of Peoria Traffic Engineering Department @ 494-8802.

Ugh. I usually take Sheridan to Knoxville, then left on Pioneer Parkway. No doubt traffic will be especially conjested on my regular route once this starts.

  Tell me about it. '04 and '05 were very frustrating, but especially '05 because of that stupid wild card -- the Cardinals had to play Houston... AGAIN... a team in their OWN division that they already beat over 162 games. What a total ripoff. The best record in baseball, and MLB has to give the NL Central also-ran a second chance. That's why I have no problem with the Cardinals winning the World Series in '06 with their dismal regular-season record. Regular season records mean NOTHING anymore.

  The Cubs are fine. Mark it. Cubs take the World series 4-1. Anyone who says otherwise isn't paying attention to the game. The Cubs are the best time overall. They can score, pitch and field. It's not that complicated. Don't worry. I am not a Cubs fan but let's face it. who is going to beat them. It's an off year for the NL so they will get into the Series easy. Then it's a best of four. Don't worry. Money in the bank.
