Who is this Coach Ron who is interviewing State Rep. Schock? That’s Ron Willis. This video was filmed for Willis’ public access cable show “Krime and JustUs in Da ‘P’,” and uploaded to YouTube on April 18, 2006.

This was before Ron Willis was indicted by the Peoria County Grand Jury on May 1, 2007:

WILLIS, RONALD R - 07CF400 (4 counts)
DOB: 01/01/63

  • ROBBERY - He did take property, being United States currency from the person or presence of another by the use of force or by threatening the imminent use of force.
  • THEFT - He did knowingly exert unauthorized control over property from the person or presence of another said property being United States currency with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the use and benefit of said property.
  • UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - He did knowingly and unlawfully have in his possession less than 15.0 grams of a substance containing a controlled substance, cocaine.
  • RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER - He knowingly resisted the performance of Mike Johnson of an authorized act within his official capacity being the arrest and detention of Ronald Willis knowing Mike Johnson to be a peace officer engaged in the execution of his official duties in that he moved his body in a manner that prevented Mike Johnson from handcuffing him and the defendant’s violation of this section was a proximate cause of an injury to Mike Johnson.

In all fairness, Schock isn’t the only politician Coach Ron captures in video. He’s also interviewed Congressman Ray LaHood and former State Treasurer and gubernatorial candidate Judy Baar Topinka. And all this DID happen before Willis got indicted.

  1. Ian Schwartz Says:

Sooo….what is the story? Coach Ron is a cokehead? Just a look back in time?

  2. diane vespa Says:

another cheap swipe at the Schock campaign?

  3. Billy Dennis Says:

I am fairly certain that if Colleen Callahan had been endorsed by someone who ended up indicted on drug and resisting arrest charges, that fact would be mentioned quite often by Mr. Schock’s supporters.

So I don’t think it’s a cheap shot, just a fact that deserves mention.

  4. diane vespa Says:

Oh, yeah, cause his campaign is soooo fixated on her campaign. /endsarcasm

  5. postsimian Says:

Of course not. Aaron Schock is much too obsessed with Aaron Schock to worry about Colleen Callahan.

  6. diane vespa Says:

So we can both agree that Billy took another cheap shot at the Schock campaign.

  7. BJ Stone Says:

I’d like to see ONE Aaron Schock post that didn’t receive an immediate comment from Diane Vespa. That would be awesome.

BTW, “cheap swipe”? In a previous post, after someone said: “I challenge Schock to list one ’shrill’ attack from Callahan.” in the comments section, Ms. Vespa had only this to say:

    “Anytime her lips move.”

BTW, that’s comment #12 on this thread: http://pundit.blogpeoria.com/2.....-confused/

for proof after it’s denied that it was said.

  8. diane vespa Says:

Why would I deny saying that?

I’m sorry that you don’t approve of my commenting habits. BJ. Is there some form I should be filling out first?

  9. BJ Stone Says:

Should I bring the bar down so it bonks you in the head instead of going over it?

Simple point: You whine about Billy taking a “cheap shot”. You had previously taken a “cheap shot”. Tie score, 1-1. Is that a good enough explanation for you?

  10. anonymous Says:

Hey you, Nastyboy- you need to get laid.

  11. postsimian Says:

I agree, anonymous. BJ Stone, I wish you many hot layings with impossibly beautiful, intelligent women. You deserve them :D

  12. Billy Dennis Says:

None of these comments have anything to do with the post at all. Just a bunch fo name-calling and verbal sparing.

    Geeze!

If Diane thinks I took a cheap shot, that’s her opinion and she has the right to it, and I encourage people to express their opinion of my posts. I see jer point, although I disagree.

And I am the one who moderates cthe amount of commenting here, not B.J. And Diane isn’t the only one who leaves a lot of comments. I LIKE getting a lot of comments.

And the shot at B.J. was uncalled for too.

Can we ALL please raise the bar on commenting?

  13. postsimian Says:

Hey, I said nice things about him, doesn’t that balance it out?

Alright, here’s your response: What does some other guy’s drug convictions have to do with Aaron Schock? It’s kind of low to be tying them together, about as low as holding a certain Illinois senator accountable for things other people did when he was a child or an eccentric pastor with a civil rights movement mentality. I don’t think either is particularly fair.

  14. BJ Stone Says:

All I did was point out (and defend Billy) that for one to call something a cheap shot, one’s own cheap shots should not be forgotten.

And who’s “Nastyboy”? Was that directed at me? Or Mr. Schock? If it was a shot at me, I don’t get it.

PostSim…thanks, I appreciate the thought, but I’ve got one impossibly beautiful and intelligent woman at home, and that’s all I need. :)

And I have no problem with Diane’s commenting habits, other than her penchant for constantly defending a person who is perhaps the weakest overall candidate on either side in any race in any state.

  15. dd Says:

After viewing the entire video, I think it is unfair to Billy Dennis to call this post a cheap shot. The problem here is that because of cable access and the internet these days any clown can pretend to be a jounalist. Clearly this “Coach Ron” guy was trying to do what Greg and Dan does on WMBD and the H Wayne does on WTVP. I’m no fan of Schock, but it appears from watching the video that he is just getting the usual soft-ball treatment that politicos usually get from these types of programs. To suggest that the interviewer’s subsequent legal problems are somehow attributable to the interviewee - well like I said, with the internet these days a lot of people try to play journalist. The problem is real journalist have editors.

  16. diane vespa Says:

And I have no problem with Diane’s commenting habits, other than her penchant for constantly defending a person who is perhaps the weakest overall candidate on either side in any race in any state.

But you will evidently give yourself a “pass” for your penchant to malign at every opportunity a serious and popular candidate for Congress. How charitable you are - to yourself. If you want to gag me, then exert a little restraint on your own part as well. Deal?

  17. 11Bravo Says:

Serious and charitable don’t necessarily equate to competent and ready, or the right candidate for that matter. THAT’S why Billy “maligns”.

  18. 11Bravo Says:

Sorry I meant popular, not charitable. No idea where that came from…

  19. Rixblix Says:

Good grief. Trying to explain hypocrisy to a hypocrite is a waste. For some, it’s not about seeing both sides, rather it’s about “but HE started it…” Simi, BJ, it’s a lost cause.

  20. BJStone Says:

Rix, you’re right, absolutely. I should have known better before I even started.
