Sports: If I thought like a Cardinal’s fan …
… I’d already be rooting for some other team.
Seriously, though, what can I say? The Dodgers’ pitching was outstanding. The Cubs played like they were on Prozac.

Good Luck in the new century !

Billy, seriously, we as Cub fans have no room to even state dumb things like that. Cubs fans trash talking after what just happened? Do you realize how stupid that looks?
The Cubs suck, plain and simple. Cardinal bashing is not going to change that.
One Cards fan told me he felt bad for me and another one said “It’s just weird”.
And I’ll make a prediction right now: The Cards will finish ahead of the Cubs next year.

I’m sorry, but were the Cardinals playing in October? Wait! No! They weren’t! Two other teams their division made it to October. So, not only are they beneath the Cubs, they aren’t even good enough to be 2nd. I’ll talk trash all year long. Cardinals need to be worried because if enough of us Cub fans convert their summers might end like this too!

I blame global warming … no – make that Bush – I blame Bush. Or maybe it was that unorthodox Greek exorcism. Or goats or cats or Bartman … or … or maybe the $500 million spent on non-productive hitters. It’s hard to buy a championship – just ask the Yankees. But don’t blame Cardinal fans.

CoolMuff … all I can do is laugh.
You do realize the Cardinals and Cubs have the same number of postseason wins the last two years? Before you start popping off, do something in the postseason. Eight straight postseason losses is nothing to brag about.
Sure, it’s an accomplishment to get into the dance. But come on, at least get out of the first round.

This Cubs fan will respond with the international signal for a choking victim whenever I am asked about the Cubs and their pitiful postseason showing.

As I made clear, I blame no one but the folks wearing the uniform. The Cubbies stunk up the place.
And if I behaved like the fans of MOST other teams, I’d be making noises about switching loyalties.
To summarize: Despite the suckitude of the Cubbies during the playoff, I remain loyal to the team.
That’s all I’m saying.

I just received a text message from a Cardinal fan friend of mine that reminded me that although the Cardinals didn’t make it to October this year, they spend their off season polishing their 10 world championship trophies. How much the truth hurts the soul!

Really? Pujols and the rest of the Cardinals polish the trophies manually? One would think the owners would hire people for that.

Well-written recap of the Cubs …

“…Really? Pujols and the rest of the Cardinals polish the trophies manually? One would think the owners would hire people for that…”
Considering what it is the Cubs are polishing today, I’d say it really doesn’t matter WHO the Cards use to polish all that baseball hardware.

Billy,
Get real. I guess you need to make yourself feel better by attacking other teams. But you obviously have never looked at the data.
The Cardinals regularly sell past 3 million even in bad years. I agree that St. Louis has wishy washy football fans, but true Cards fans never jump ship. I bet there were a lot more convenient Cubs fans this year most teams see. (Red Sox had the same thing happen in 2004).
Your loyalty for your team is not any more strong than mine. But if you need to feel that it is to get through this time go ahead and think that. Regardless, your comments are childish.

CoolMuff & others;
(Re: comment #3) No, the Cardinals were NOT playing in October… however, when they DO play in October, they WIN more often than they lose.
And besides, the Cardinals have played in October for 8 of the past 11 seasons — hell, the Cubs haven’t been in post season play that many times in the last 100 years.
Go ahead and bad-mouth the Cardinals… they’ll be too busy admiring their 10 -that’s 10- World Series trophies (all won within the past 81 sesons.
In that same time-span, how many World Series have the Cubs won? I mean, really, do you even know anyone alive today that can recall when the Cubs last won a World Series???
Face it – the Cubs are the most pitiful, pathetic professional (barely) atheletic organization of all-time. They weren’t going to the World Series this year, and they will not go to the World Series in our lifetime!
Ha ha ha ha

Sorry to be so late with this – but I knew you’d find it interesting …
