Local: I’ll be liveblogging the council tonight

C.J. has details about two interesting items up for discussion.

First, the council will vote on whether to make the entire Glen Hollow Shopping center eligible for enterprise zone status. As C.J. sarcastically notes, the city will claim the area qualifies as a slum.

Second, the council will vote on whether to allow the distribution of handbills on parked cars. It seems it’s unconstitutional to prohibit this. I say we keep making it illegal and make some jerk spend a nickel to take the city to court. And you thought litter was bad now …

And the Journal Star is reporting that the city is going to mull what in heavens name the city will do the next time a president visits the city and if the Secret Service asks for help.
