Local: ‘Green gold being planted in Peoria area’
(Press release)
Area farmers are planting a new crop to fight foreign dependency on oil. Pennycress is known to many farmers as a common weed, but new research shows it could be a key to our oil independence. Join us Thursday October 30th at 9:30am at the Biofuels Manufacturers of Illinois (BMI) planting site located on Terminal Road in Mapleton to see how this crop that some are calling “green gold†can impact the Midwest and the entire country. Travel on Route 24 through Mapleton and turn left on Terminal Road.
