So can we all go back to being friends now?
Last night, collectively, we all chalked up a few wins and a few losses. It has been no secret that I heartily supported the Schock and Krupa slate. My brain is in a post-election scramble right now, and it is hard to pin-point a single emotion, so for the time being I simply wrote a post on the Schock Victory bash last night which was awesome. Please take a peek here. Thanks, and a big congrats to all the happy campers out there!

Based on the lack of comments, I’m guessing the answer is “not yet”….

Perhaps a better explanation, is that we were never “not friends.” This is the United States, not some third world dictatorship. We don’t shoot one another. It’s politics not war. We have our revolutions each time we vote.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I haven’t forgotten the past 8 years yet.

Postsimian — Wait ’til you see the next four. You might be longing for the good old days….

PS – I understand the sentiments. I still haven’t forgotten the awful 8 before that. The things is a lot of people need to go back even further.
Every four years it seems we forget the 200+ that came before it. We need to not only recall the mistakes W. has made, but also those made by Clinton, Carter, Nixon, LBJ, Ike, Truman, Wilson and all the way back to Washington and Adams.

CJ — The Clinton years?
Anon — You’re spot on. At this point I’m most concerned about keeping our eye on the ball and not losing sight of our goals (especially while we’re going through our current situation). Sure, national reconciliation sounds great, but we ought to be focusing on fixing things or, in some cases, letting them heal instead of screwing them up further.

Well the hate has already started. Tune into Hannity’s America on WMBD 1470 AM in the afternoons. CJ: yeah, the last years has been a picnic. I am looking forward to the next 4 years and I’ll bet they will be way better than anything McCain could have drummed up.

I can’t wait to see how the President Elect handles the Congressman who invented the “socialist” charge. Who said it first?
November 7th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Yeah, thanks to Bush, any new president could simply order the congressman to be arrested without charges, then held indefinitely as an enemy combatant at Gitmo. When people become righteously pissed off, just claim “Executive Privilege!!”
Man, can you remember what this country was like before? What were we thinking? Thank the LAWD JUH-HEEEEEE-SUS for the President Bush!
(Brian, that wasn’t really a response to you so don’t take offense.
<== see? It’s a smiley. We need a LOLcat picture that says “Freedum: Ur doin it rong.”)
Alright, vitriol OFF.

“…I still haven’t forgotten the awful 8 before that…”
WTF? What was the “awful” part? The peace, the prosperity, the balanced budget? Oh, (finger snap), that’s right…dude got a hummer. Yep. Frickin’ awful. Whole eight years. Just terrible. What-the-frick-ever.
