Local: Matt Hale wannabe denied bail

A judge has ordered a white supremacist charged with threatening a Chicago juror to remain jailed after hearing how he used his computer to discuss killing blacks and even aimed a veiled threat at President-elect Barack Obama.
The charges against William White stemmed from his alleged posting of the name, photograph, address and phone numbers of the foreman of a jury that in 2004 found white supremacist Matt Hale guilty of soliciting the murder of the federal judge who presided over the trial.
William White, 31, of Roanoke, Va. stood impassively Friday as U.S. District Judge William Hibbler said he was upholding a previous decision by a Virginia judge to jail him without bond to “ensure the safety of the community.”
Granted, people should enjoy the freedom to engage in unpopular, even racist, speech. But posting private information about a person, and then urging readers to kill that person crosses the line, I think. Call me pro-censorship, then.

Recently the news has been full of stories about two white supremacists allegedly plotting to assassinate Ill. Sen. Barack Obama (D) while he is on the presidential election trail, and then go on a nation-wide killing spree and decapitating African-Americans.
Upstaged by this story was yet another one involving Neo-Nazi’s that has ties to Peoria Heights.
Laurence Hammack, a reporter for the Roanoke (Va.) Times wrote Oct. 23 that Bill White has been charged with soliciting others to injure or threaten someone identified only as Juror A in the 2004 trial of Peoria’s most notorious racist Matt Hale.
White, head of the American National Socialist Worker’s Party, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Chicago on a charge of encouraging violence.
White runs a magazine, a blog and a very popular Web site among Neo-Nazi’s called Overthrow.com — now down — from which he targeted people for derision or threats. Among the local targets for the ANSWP were several reporters — myself included — and Bradley University professor Ollie Nanyes.
But, the local connection goes deeper. The ANSWP has an Illinois chapter headed by Peoria Heights resident Philip Anderson.
Anderson, while chairman of the Illinois chapter, is a shadowy figure. Unlike White, Anderson shuns publicity unless he initiates it. He always let White handle the media for him.
Despite the threats from White, I find myself in a quandry.
Hammack reported at the federal court hearing last week for White that Judge Michael Urbanski said the case raises significant free speech implications.
White described himself to the judge as a ‘tabloid journalist.â€
“It is a very interesting legal issue as to whether the language used in this case constitutes a true threat,†Urbanski said.
White in his Web site posting did what he usually did. He made remarks about the jury foreman being a traitor to the white race and published his whereabouts.
The government contends White was inciting others to take action against the juror. That, they say crosses the line between words and action.
This is exactly what White did to me and has done to other local residents.
Does White’s rhetoric cross the line?
That is exactly what will be decided in Chicago.
And, I’m left to ponder where I stand.
Right now my feeling is a slippery slope is a slippery slope no matter how despicable the person is standing on it.

I can assure you that White does not have a God like power of posting a persons address and using his mind control to get some crazy to harm them. White continuously advocated peaceful protest and kicked anyone committed of any crime out of ANSWP.
This posting was not private information, infact it was public information and given out by the government so that is completely false.
Anyone who feels that a person should go to prison for having antisocial behavior should consider themselves being checked out. You are more of a danger to society than anything if you are a mentally deranged individual that feels that our constitutional rights should be abolished and we should turn this country into a police state putting everyone into prison that we disagree with.
This is a huge sign that something is deeply wrong with this great country when people start twisting facts in order to satisfy their agenda, especially when your talking about throwing a non violent individual into prison with the crazies.
Long ago the Liberals were thought of as being anti-establishment. Today it is the republicans, the libs are more pro-establishment, pro government control of the people than there has ever been in this country. You libs will have 10% of the population locked up for petty crimes if things go your way.

First of all, it appears that you are saying that someone should be imprisoned for saying something you strongly disagree with. Your postings also imply your feelings that Bill White infact does have the God like ability to control people.
Also, I am wondering why you are posting information that was written by the Roanoke Times who has been caught lying for their agenda to harm Bill for sensationalist journalism in a weak attempt to save their paper from bankruptcy. People in Roanoke know that the information contained within cannot be trusted because they, on multiple occasions, have come up dirty.
That article is full of lies and it seems that you just believe everything you read as if it was true because it was in print by a newspaper. Well, I will go ahead and disprove a couple of things that you can verify yourself. You then will have a better understanding of the lies that people in Roanoke see the Roanoke Times take part in on a daily basis.
First thing I would like you to do is to go to Virginia’s court case information site and run a criminal background check on Bill White, William White (William Alexander White)

Click the third link that says circuit court case information. Then select Roanoke City. You will see that bill has a speeding charge and a misdemeanor assault charge. This in its entirety represents the last 13 years that Bill has lived in Roanoke. Wow, it looks like the facts were misrepresented by the Roanoke Times as they made him out to be continuously in and out of jail. They did say as a youth but it seemed as if they were implying that this continuous behavior has never stopped. It’s pretty clear that Bill has been clean in his adult life. It is shamefull of the Roanoke Times to imply otherwise.
The Roanoke Times said that he continuously “victimized†his tenants because of their criminal records, using drugs in his buildings, prostitution, etc. Well, this is the area that he rents. I can assure you that no one using drugs in your apartment building should be left there without action. The state actually allows eviction of someone using drugs in your building without the extensive process required otherwise. I would call the police on them too. The area he rents in is one of the worst areas in Roanoke and I can assure you that none of them are victims. Acutally, quite the opposite. Also as all lease agreements state, people not on a lease should not and cannot move into your house. The next thing you know you are operating a boarding house and the Roanoke Government will come down on the landlord, not the people who broke your lease and moved in. I can see that you don’t know very much about real estate if you are buying this stuff. It’s pretty obvious the dire angle that the Roanoke Times is trying to take here. Do you really think the criminals that live in these bad areas are Victims??? Maybe they are a victim of society. Actually, in reality they are a Victim of themselves because their drama is self created.
Now lets take a look at the poor little victim Aries Brown, the nice little African American photo in the column. The Roanoke Times claims that he was a victim of Bill. It’s funny how Aries was the one who was charged with this incident. I guess the judge hates black people too.
The real story is Bill was driving down the street that his properties are on and Aries (a convicted crack cocaine dealor) was beating his prostitute, Latoria Minnis. Bill stopped to help Latoria and was attacked by Aries. Bill claimed that he kicked Aries butt but in reality Aries beat up Bill. The prostitute joined in on Bill. She apparently did not want any help. Life in the getto.
Go ahead and do the criminal background on Latoria and the nice little African American boy Aries Brown. You will find out for yourself that Latoria has theft charges and Aries has multiple distribution of crack cocaine offences.
I could go on and on disproving that piece from the Roanoke Times but no time or interest in doing so. I just though I would give you a little taste so you can determine their accuracy on your own. They are mad at Bill for posting their home addresses on his web site so they are willing to even break the law (libel) and report false info to try to imprison him.
This is the crossing point for you Billy. Go down with the sinking ship (Roanoke Times) or jump off it.

I could careless about what record this Aries Brown person has, or his record as a land lord. I am writing about William White’s published comments encouraging people do dophysical hard to the forman of a jury and to the president elect of the United States. You do not refute, nor even mention, this in your silly little attempt to defend White. He is being held accountable and will have an opportunity to defend the charges ina court of law.

I have no knowledge of the exact thing that was said about this juror and neither do you. Overthrow.com was taken down by the FBI in order to ensure that no one ever sees any of Whites comments to not harm anyone. White would go off in illogical rants and then come back and say what he actually felt afterward. He would clearly do this for attention. No man should be imprisoned for being an idiot although it is clear that you feel they should.
As far as your statements that White wanted to harm Obama, where are you getting your information from? This is completely false and you again are reading construed information that is taken out of context. It seems as if you are having trouble thinking for yourself and just trusting what you hear which all stems from reports that the Roanoke Times makes.

The only thing mentioned is the “Kill this Nigger?”headline on Whites magazine with the cross hairs around Obama as if the subhead does not even exist. Read it. It says Obama Assassination Myth. Myth is surely a term you can understand. Now read the magazine and you will see the basic premise that the myth is created by the Obama campaign in an attempt to gain sympathy votes and that White supremacists do not want to kill Obama.
Please do your research before spouting off your nasty anti constitutional rants of imprisoning people based on something that you don’t even have facts on. It’s funny how some people have the unique ability to hear only one side of a story and make judgment of imprisoning someone based solely on that.
