Wanted: Cat bloggers (UPDATED)

No, no, no. Not this kind of cat blogging.

I’m talking about Caterpillar. Considering how Peoria is a hotbed of blogging, I’m surprised there aren’t one or two or seven people out there blogging away about the inside workings of this Fortune 500 company that, from what I see, likes to push its corporate weight around.

Of course, any insiders who want to blog what goes on the shop floor or behind closed doors at Caterpillar World Headquarters would have to be anonymous. And I would be happy to help, perhaps with a group blog focusing on Big Yellow.

Just send me a message, and we can arrange for Cat-blogging on the Blog Peoria Network.

UPDATE: Former Journal Star newsie and Internet maven Tom Mangan operates Cat Stock Blog. I’ve read some of the posts and it looks good. I’ve added it to my blogroll and my personal feeds.

I especially like this post that describes how CEO Jim Owens isn’t hurting, considering how he cashed out six months early.

I’m no fan of corporate welfare in any form, but what fortune 500 company *doesn’t* throw its weight around in the communities that don’t want to lose a bunch of jobs?

Thanks, Bill, I don’t even have any readers yet and you’re already trying to steal them.

Oh I am reading Tom… I am. I like what you got so far. I think what Bill wants is some more insider like stuff. The problem is, some of that ‘insider’ stuff can get folks into a world of trouble beyond simply getting fired.

I was just needling Bill because he enjoys that… but actually some more Cat-related blogs would be great for me because they’d be natural audiences for me. The best way to build blog traffic is via blogs on similar topics.

Bill by the way: I’ve returned the fave and added Peoria Pundit to my blogroll.

Absolutely. That’s not a hard concept to understand, yet so many in the business don’t get it. It’s like owning a restaurant. If you are smart, you WANT another restaurant to move in next door and across the street.

And thanks for the reciprocal linkage.

    Good luck with that. Feh.
