Politics: An unstimulating stimulus

This YouTube video makes some of the same point I am making about the stimulus package, namely that the final version is NOTHING like  it was advertised as being. And it’s not very stimulating at all.

Great pick Billy. Why don’t you give your readership the source. Themouthpiece also has a video purporting that Barack Obama advocated the teaching of sex ed to kindergarteners.
Why don’t you find an old pre 1960’s macroeconomic textbook and see how what they called GNP was calculated. Remember GNP=C+I+G+E Comsumption is down. Since investment is intimately tied to consumption, It too has fallen. Exports were holding up the economy until the last quarter of ‘08. What’s left. Oh yeah Government spending. Even the Hooverites recognized the need to prime the pump.

Don’t worry even if nothing is done, the economy will eventually rebound as stuff wears out. It will only take years. Take a little time to educate yourself about the economy. Take a look at employment, net investment, new and used home sales, excess manufacturing capacity, etc.

You embarrassed yourself with this one. I urge everyone to double-click the video and check out that users other videos. Way to use an unbiased source. Why don’t you just print press releases verbatim?

  5.   Mary Says:

Way to go Billy. I love it when you prove a point. Of course I won’t sleep tonight or tomorrow, because of it. There is nothing stimulating about this bill!

  6.   jenny Says:

    Oh great *that* was stimulating!

  7.   sentinel Says:

    Touche Billy, touche!

  8.   diane Says:

Someone just sent me this you tube video. It is Obama’s comments at Caterpillar followed by Congressman Aaron Schocks response during Congressional hearings.

  9.   nontimendum Says:

Brian, I actually agree with you regarding the need for some spending, not just to stimulate the economy but also because we are at a place in the cycle where infrastructure is in dire need of maintenance and upgrades. The problem is the spending that is actually needed to create lasting jobs and growth barely gets an honorable mention in the Reid/Pelosi pork package.

  10.   anotherexjser Says:

If we have that many economists in the country, we are, indeed, doomed. I’ll bet the list of economists who thought the economy was going to rebound in the second half of 2008 was even longer.

If I get time, I’ll post a list of 800 economists and 600 journalists who think Elvis is alive.
