Local: Time to step up to the plate, voters
From Citizens for Responsible Spending:
Greetings to all!
Peoria County voters today is your day to vote! Your vote counts. Each and every vote counts. This rare occasion to cast your vote in a binding referendum to raise or not to raise your taxes.
We encourage you to contact all your family and friends in Peoria County and then have them contact their family and friends in Peoria County and so on and so on to get out the vote today.
Citizens for Responsible Spending (CFRS) advocates for your NO vote.
Wrong plan. Wrong funding mechanism. Wrong time.
A better block can be built.

It’s time for taxpayers to finally say no and stop acting like sheep. You have the power.

These old farts are just pathetic! Let’s let Bloomington build it, or EP! Why would Peoria want to be a standout jewel in Central Illinois when other communities can get progressive projects completed??! EP is building their downtown, I am sure theu would be happy to take Cat’s $60M. Pathetic! Widmer and his gang of doddering old fools need to go off to Arizona and retire.

Bloomington can’t build it, because they’re operating at a budget deficit due to the last “progressive project” they undertook. I guess the pending personnel layoffs are worth it since the WWF is coming to town next month.

Kuudo — Is Cat going to require that Tazewell County residents pony up $40 million for a companion project before they’ll build their visitors center there?

F the block.

I guess we’ll have to stop them east of the river when they come looking for museum taxes here — something they’ve already talked about.

They’re going to get less bang for their buck if they do it in Tazewell, considering the amount of people in Tazewell who do business in DUN DUN DUNNNN… Peoria! Anyway, spread the tax eastward and northward, I say. The faster we get this done with, the faster CJ and PI can go back to saving that 1/4-cent per dollar.
