SUBJECT: Attempted Armed Robbery / Shot Fired / Apprehension –– 09-12080
The Peoria Police Department and the Peoria Park District Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at Newman Golf Course, located at 2021 W. Nebraska.
At 1315 Hrs, officers responded to an attempted armed robbery of a golfer on the 16th Fairway. The victim called police stating two B/M’s armed with a handgun attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The victim stated that as he fled the scene on his golf cart, one suspect fired a shot at him. The victim was not struck and victim told dispatch he was heading to the clubhouse to meet the officers and that the suspects fled on foot.
