Fire some administrators in District 150? About. Damn. Time.
After years of complaints by teachers, parents and just about anybody paying attention, it looks like Peoria School District 150 is going trim the administrative fat.
Letters of “non-renewal” went out Wednesday morning, and face-to-face talks were held with many employees, notifying them of the uncertainty and saying they would have to reapply for their jobs, if their positions remained.
Coordinators, directors and administrative staff members in all departments are affected.
“The reason is we are going to be developing a new organizational chart – a new chain of command,” interim Superintendent Norm Durflinger said.
How many are getting the heave-ho? Well, 25 of them were notified, but I strongly suspect a lot of them are staying as jobs get combined.
But any reduction is non-teaching staff is welcome. The next step is getting rid of the damn consultants, and making sure none of the people who lose their jobs get hired back as consultants.
