More bad news for Rush Limbaugh:
A majority of Americans think Rush Limbaugh should be fired for his comments about Sandra Fluke and contraception, according to a Bloomberg poll released on Wednesday.
The poll is another piece of bad news for Limbaugh, who has not been able to shake the scandal he set off by calling Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.” It follows another poll on Tuesday which found that just 29 percent of respondents thought hissubsequent apology to Fluke was sincere. It also comes as advertisers continue to pull out of his show in droves.
The Bloomberg survey showed 53 percent of respondents saying that Limbaugh should be fired “solely” for his comments about Fluke. Men were almost evenly split 49-47 percent on the question, but women came down strongly for Limbaugh’s dismissal, with 56 percent calling for his ouster and 39 percent saying he should stay. Moreover, almost a third of Republicans wanted him gone.
The reality is that Rush will have a job as long as radio stations continue to pay Premier for the honor and privledge of airing Rush Limbaugh. As soon as these stations start feeling the heat, they will dump him and Limbaugh will be history.
Isn’t the ebb and flow of capitalism a wonderful thing?

Rush’s 1st Amendment Rights, like anyone else, is not an unlimited license to spout fabrication and defamation in the PUBLIC DOMAIN without consequence and accountability.
1st Amendment Rights do not indemnify Rush from negative public opinion, nor do they protect him from forces brought to bare by the consumer sector upon his advertisers.
What is happening is exactly what should happen; the citizenry exercising THEIR 1st Amendment Rights to argue that their portion of the public domain, in this case broadcast radio, is being subjugated and corrupted by an individual and or ideology.
Advertisers understand their target audiences. If hate mongers like Rush alienate those potential consumer’s, then alternate markets need to be sought out. Conservative’s above all else, should appreciate the effort by consumers to use their potential disposable income to influence the free market of ideas and goods and services.
Limbaugh has grown extremely wealthy by this Capitalistic model, now he should suffer the reversals of fortune when apathy and avarice have become the only “product and service” he can deliver to the public forum.
To paraphrase Edmund Burke; All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. That is what happens when public resistance to corruptions such as hate speech jocks like Rush are told to just “… leave it alone.”

Example: recall when Ed Schultz called Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.” After his apology, the uproar from conservatives died down.
Yet after Rush accurately called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute,” then apologized, the predictable uproar from liberals has continued (though in a contrived sort of way).
The difference? Rush Limbaugh has about 20 million listeners while Ed Schultz has about 20.
Yes, Ed Schultz did apologize, but he also took himself off the air for 1 week WITHOUT PAY. He is also on CNN, meaning you have to PAY for cable or satelite service to watch him. Same thing for Bill Maher, when he does insults: he’s on HBO, so you have to PAY extra to see his show.
Rush? No charge, no cost to listen to him blather for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.

But I have also come to believe that the Big Rush is just another entertainer. He puts out this 50% truthfullness because he knows some people will believe it. I listen for about 15 minutes a day for laughs.
I read where he started out with a good mix of talk and news, no bias…then he turned nasty, and his popularity soared. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I’d like to know what his voting record was like 10-20 years ago. Maybe he has a liberal skeleton in closet.

While Ed Shultz certainly has crossed the line a time or two on verbal attacks of political and media personalities:
Ed did not attempt a personal character assassination on a private individual with false statements such as conducted by Rush on Sarah Fluke. It’s clear from David’s statement “Yet after Rush accurately called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute,” …” that Mr. Jordan gave as much effort to actually listen to Ms. Fluke’s testimony as Rush had. I will not take the time or space here to spell this out for David, but it does demonstrate the laziness of Conservatives to so readily adopt an easy, comforting lie as opposed to taking the time to actually see what that truth actually is.
Nor did Ed disparage an entire demographic of women who’s only action was to have birth control treated as a health care issue and not as a weapon for religious persecution of sexually active, childbearing age females.
Laura Ingraham is a strong, independent woman whom I’m sure has used some form of birth control to be able to have the career she presently enjoys. A survivor of breast cancer, sister to a gay brother, single mother to 3 adopted children. Ingraham is a public figure who has both delivered and received negative commentary in the bruising arena of political discourse. Under Rush’s description of Sarah Fluke, this would qualify Laura as a “slut’, “whore” and “prostitute” for using birth control for recreational sex outside of a heterosexual marriage. Even worse, while a single mother! It would also entitle Laura to provide Rush with hours and hours of homemade porn tapes for Limbaugh to masturbate to.
Ed clearly knew “slut” was not a truthful nor publicly appropriate description of a conservative public pundit like Laura and retracted it. Rush never managed to stop insulting and disparaging women in his half-felt apology and attempted to blame his behavior not on himself but on reacting to pressure from “Feminazis”. Unable to stop there, Rush then continued to belittle advertisers reacting to his attacks on a significant share of the advertiser’s target audience – women.
Rush has a large audience in large part due to the monopolization of radio networks and stations by Conservative owners. Though conservative, they are Capitalist first, so now that Rush’s income generating potential has been crippled by Limbaugh’s own stupidity and bigotry, he’ll be tossed for a less inflammatory, stable, predictable, advertiser friendly host. After Rush flees to Satellite Radio, Ed will still be broadcasting …
Good riddance if anyone can get rid of Rush. He’s an idiot.
Meanwhile, three IL Democrat politicians have been arrested in the last couple weeks and Blago going to jail while this Rush fiasco has been happening, yet not one word from Billy about that. Name calling is bad enough to warrant calls for boycotts, yet violence, stealing from poor taxpayers, and political corruption (by Democrats this time) doesn’t even warrant a mention here. Those are some really screwed up and biased priorities in my eyes.
