KISS guitarist Gene Simmons is just a tad unfair to karaoke singers:
A press conference to announce KISS and Motley Crue’s 40-date co-headlining North American summer tour turned into a Rihanna diss session Tuesday.
Outspoken KISS bassist Gene Simmons stressed that the bands’s sets would be live, unlike Rihanna’s stage show.
“We’re sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them,” Simmons said, according to Billboard. “No karaoke singers allowed. No fake bullsh-t. Leave that to Rihanna-Schimianna and everybody else whose name ends with an ‘A.’”
This is unfair to karaoke singers, who actually perform live to taped songs (and some of them are quite good). When Rihanna performs “live,” the whole damn thing is taped. But, yeah, he’s absolutely right to disrespect to Rihanna and all the fake lip-synching biatches out there.

Kiss, Crue, Hagar are concerts. Rihanna and the like are “shows”.
Gotta agree with Gene on this one. I pay for a performance, I expect it all to be live. Hell, I can sing karaoke. But I can’t dance like they do, for sure. But if they can’t dance and sing at the same time….?
KISS and Motley Crue together? The music will be as explosive as the special effects. Damn, I should consider getting a ticket.
Rhianna is not only ‘performer’ to use canned music. Most rappers do too, plus have dancers, other rappers in their show. Folks that use canned music apparently too cheap to hire musicans to perform the music live.
