From Media Matters:
As part of the continuing exodus of advertisers from The Rush Limbaugh Show, Arby’s and Proactiv both confirmed they will no longer run ads during Rush Limbaugh’s show. Ads from both advertisers recently started running during Limbaugh’s program.
While Arby’s noted that they “do not buy ads on national radio programs,” the company confirmed on Twitter that its ads would no longer run during Limbaugh’s show, advising that it is taking “the necessary steps to discontinue advertising during this show”:
It makes total sense that these companies would act in sync. You eat at Arby’s and Proactiv will clear up the resulting zits. Then you can eat even more! They could go a step further and partner with the manufacturers of bp drugs like Lipitor and Zebeta. A virtual one-stop-shop for eating like a pig. It’s win-win for all of them!
Now, now, GOPer. if they were JOINING the Rush Limbaugh program, you would be talking about their delicious french dip sandwiches.
No I wouldn’t. I don’t think Arby’s is even real roast beef. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a gigantic glob of pink slime. And is proactiv that drug that makes you prone to suicide? Although it could be that comes from after you eat at Arby’s – I get so confused….
Now I KNOW you are BSing me, because no Republicans is opposed to pink slime.
Rush is still on the air and Olby is unemployed…again.
Arby’s “roast beef” is not roast beef. I worked there and the raosts are huge blobs of fat with chunks of stew meat formed to look like a roast. Not many tree huggers go there so me thinks they just shot themselves in the foot.
[...] Yes, I understand that some of you are up in arms over the fact that Arby’s apparently isn’t going to advertise with Rush. Boo Hoo. I’m sorry, but I’ve got a lot more to worry about in life than that. If the [...]
Don’t be too tough on the Conservatives, Billy. They just can’t understand that not everyone subscribes to their worldview. Next they’ll be demanding that Coke and Pepsi should be boycotted because they “caved” to progressive pressure concerning their memberships in ALEC.
Arby’s is in the business to make money and doesn’t want to be associated with a pill popping misogynist, and Coke and Pepsi don’t want to be associated with voter suppression and “stand your ground” laws. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/04/04/458591/progressive-movement-compels-coca-cola-to-pull-support-from-alec-over-voter-suppression-efforts/
While bouncing around this mornings news sites, I found this:
Arby’s is not and has not ever been a national sponsor of Rush’s program. In the radio industry, advertisers can buy “Run of Schedule” — commercials that are to be aired during different times of the day for more than one day on local stations. Arby’s most likely told local stations not to run their ads during Rush’s show. That is not a cancellation of an ad buy; there’s no loss of money.
And this:
Just like with Carbonite, it looks like we may have another case of people who run companies letting their own personal politics affect their decision-making. But Hala Moddelmog, president of Arby’s Group, Inc. who just pulled its Arby’s ads on Rush Limbaugh’s show, is not just an Obama donor like David Friend of Carbonite, Inc. In fact, Moddelmog donated to John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama during the 2008 election cycle.
Talk among yourselves.
I don’t care if someone doesn’t subscribe to my world view. Advertisers should go where they want, consumers should buy what they want – it’s a free country. Although the left keeps whittling those freedoms away bit by bit through government force instead of letting the market figure things out (boycots and changing advertising to people you like should be okay with everyone).
But you see, this isn’t good enough for the left, letting people making free decisions. They rather make laws and force people into their world view (should a private entity like Augusta be free to select their own members?)Next thing you know they will force people to buy things against their will – oh, wait that is already happening.
Good for Arby’s. No family friendly company would want to be associated with the hate and lies of Limbaugh and hate-talk radio. The radio waves belong to the people, and its long past due that we take them back from the corporations that run 24/7 Republican talking points.
This has never been about Rush’s slut comment. It IS about the left masturbating over the perceived victory of getting a strong conservative voice off the air. This was just an opportunity.
This is pretty much proved by their indifference to similar comments made against conservatives by lefty talkers.
“…Although the left keeps whittling those freedoms away bit by bit…”
You mean like how the left wing of the Supreme Court just ruled that strip searches are completely legal even before guilt is proven? Oh, wait, that was the RIGHT wing of the Supreme Court. Never mind.
Carbonite has a functionally obsolescent product. Cloud storage is now the norm and super cheap. Carbonite with its high monthly fees and mandatory contracts were only being propped up by the Rush listeners. If I owned stock in it I would dump it asap!
Heh. You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO transparent.
Google it, hotshot. Read the consumer ratings. It’s the lowest rated company of its kind.
What kind of patriot would call the United States Government a regime? What patriot would refer to the POTUS and his cabinet as thugs? What American, flag waving person or persons would bad mouth everything the President does?
Rush Limbaugh & Sean Hannity. They both do it everyday. Odd they never called Dubbya a thug. I get in my car after work, turn on WMBD 1470 and count to 10. Before I reach 7, Hannity has call our President a thug or some other derogatory name. Never fails. Then I switch the channel. Do these two idiots realize that President Obama was elected in a democratic society like all the other Presidents are elected? He wasn’t appointed unlike Bush was by the Supreme Court.
This is why the Republicans are hypocrites. Even when Bush was in office I, a Liberal, never considered our government a group of thugs nor thought of us as a regime. This is the hate Right talk radio spreads everyday and people with active brains cells know this. It’s the dumb asses cleaning their guns, waiting on their food stamp checks, bitching about the government in their lives, with the Confederate Flag bumper sticker on their trucks, with an American Flag hanging from their front yard tree that soak all this in. That scares the hell out of me more than any terrorists.
You, apparently, were not listening to any MSM between say 2002 and 2008.
Q: What American, flag waving person or persons would bad mouth everything the President does?
A: Emtronics during a Republican Administration.
Next!
I never called Bush a thug nor said that this country was run as a regime by a group of thugs. Although I look back now and see Bush as a bigger idiot than I thought he was, I stood behind him after 9/11 and even, while scratching my head, after we invaded Iraq for WMDs’ (That is why we went into Iraq..WMDs) He was our President and our country was attacked. I wonder how many GOPer’s would stand by President Obama under the same circumstances?
I don’t wave the flag anymore. Bush did that to me.
And GOPer, it doesn’t change the fact that Right talk radio is hate radio. It is.

But you posted this to a commenter on your January 22 post – “Let Me Correct the Old White Man…”
Also, tell that to the millions out of work and who lost their retirement and life savings because of Bush. I’ll bet they don’t think it’s a juvenile. You want something the borders on criminal? Dubbya will be arrested on the spot in 3 countries and more are joining in. Too bad Obama had too much compassion to have that sick ass arrested here for war crimes and crimes against our country.
“Criminal,” “Sick A–,” “Thug” – not much difference.
Don’t confuse him with the facts – his mind’s made up…
