Posted in Links with tags clones, Scarlett Johansson on August 9, 2008 by Billy Dennis
All I have to say is thank God for the Internet. Because if it weren’t for this miraculous series of tubes, I would not have learned of this wonderful news: There are TWO Scarlett Johanssons! The following comment was left at this Indian Website’s article about something or other to so with Scarlett:

Hello dear ladies and gentlemen!
I would like inform you that Scarlett Johansson (actress) actually is a clone from original person, who has nothing with acting career. That clone was created illegally by using stolen biological material. Original person is very nice (not d**n sexy), most important – CHRISTIAN young lady!
I’ll tell you guys more, those clones (it’s not only one) made in GERMANY – world leader manufacturer of humans clones, it is in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, North Bavaria, Mr. Helmut Kohl home town. You can not even imaging the scale of the cloning activity. But warning! Helmut Kohl clone staff 100% controlling all their clones spreading around the world, they are very accurate with that, some of them are still NAZI type disciplined and mind controlled clones, so be careful get close with clones you will be controlled as well. Apparently those clones are very actively shown on your website. Original person is not happy about those images and video, rumors and etc., it would be really nice if you try slow down that ”actress” career development, original Scarlett’s parents will really appreciated that. Please remember that original family did not authorize any activity with stolen biological materials, no matter what form it was created, it all need to be return back to original family control to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Original Scarlett is not engage, by the way!
Her close friend Serge G.
P.S.
H.R. 534, the Human Cloning Prohibition Act of 2003, was introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives on February 5, 2003. After discussion, it was passed on February 27 by a vote of 241-155. It now moves on to the Senate for consideration. This bill makes it unlawful for any person or entity to perform or participate in human cloning, or to ship or receive embryos produced by human cloning. The penalties are imprisonment of up to 10 years and fines of $1 million or more.
Imagine! We have the technology to clone hot actresses. Think about it. We could have new Marilyn Monroes. We could have new Ingrid Bergmans (think “Cassablanca” not “A Woman Called Golda.”). Hell, we could also clone the entire cast of the original Star Trek. This way, we could remake the original series with people who actually look like and sound like the original cast.
Modern science is wonderful.

News: Slavery abounds elsewhere in the world
Posted in Links on June 4, 2008 by Billy DennisIn the United States, a man who would be wearing chains 150 years ago is the front-runner to be president. Like him, don’t like him, his nomination is a sign of our greatness as a nation.
In other other parts of the world … slavery abounds:
China was found to have a “significant” problem with forced labor, including forced child labor. Children as young as 12 are reportedly subject to forced labor under the guise of “work and study programs” and subject to excessively long hours, dangerous conditions, low pay and physical abuse. The report found China’s growing brick industry is fraught with cover-ups of the problem.
For the fourth year in a row, China was put on a “watch list” of countries that could face sanctions if they don’t improve their efforts to combat trafficking.
India was also placed on the watch list for not doing enough to solve its trafficking problem, according to the report. While commercial sexual exploitation remained a problem in India, the State Department found internal forced labor “may constitute India’s largest trafficking problem.” It said men, women and children are forced to work in brick kilns, rice mills, agricultural businesses and embroidery factories.
Once again, the report found U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf to have dismal records on trafficking.

Today’s news: Moons and ’shrooms
Posted in Links, Local on May 26, 2008 by Billy DennisLinks via the Journal Star’s spiffy new Web site:
- Apparently, Chillicothe is a good place to look for mushrooms. Who knew? Well, the morel the merrier, I say ,…
- This is not a fun way to get mooned.
- I did this story about Hispanic and Mexican immigration in the East Bluff about three years ago. And there’s also a piece about the new impact zone that supposed to be the latest cure for the ailing neighborhood.
- They are honoring officers for making a bunch of drunk driving arrests. Good for them. How about increasing the number of arrests made for simple bad driving?
- On holidays like this one, we talk about honoring veterans. Phil Luciano interviews a man who has gone the extra mile and more to honor the memory of those who otherwise really will be forgotten.

Media: C.J. scores a first for the Peoria Blogosphere
Posted in Links on May 23, 2008 by Billy DennisC.J. Summers has the scoop on the District 150 Watch Coalition’s meeting with Superintendent Ken Hinton. He’s done some remarkable work on all this.
In fact, it’s so remarkable that HOI News, in it’s own on-line version of the story, linked directly to C.J.’s most recent post.
I do believe this is a first for the Peoria Blogosphere. Media Websites have linked to Peoria blogs before, but only in relation to a story in which bloggers and blogging is the topic. But I do believe this is the very first time, in the course of regular reporting on an issue, that any Peoria media organization has linked to a specific post written by a Peoria blogger simply because the quality and availability of the information in the post.
This is a significant milestone for the media here in Peoria. It’s an acknowledgment of the work being done on blogs, specifically C.J.’s site, which is top notch.
Site News: I am taken to task
Posted in Links, Site News on May 21, 2008 by Billy DennisJonathan Ahl just doesn’t get me. And here, I thought I had him at hello.
First, not all blogs I create are intended to be permanent. I created that site simply to test (and as it turns out, repair)Â this WordPressMu installations import and export features. I didn’t want to try it on any existing blog.
And as someone who manages more than a dozen blogs run by other people, I HAVE to spent time on the nuts and bolts. I haven’t been (not to Blog Peoria, anyway) and it’s needed some TLC for months now. Migrating Peoria Pundit to the Blog Peoria Project will pay off in increased attention to these other blogs, and encourage more blogging in Peoria. I’ve always been about that.
And I share your admiration for C.J. Would that I had his time and a 1st shift job.
