Site information:

I post every single day. I sometimes post six, seven, eight times a day, depending on what’s happening in the news.

According to Site Meter, Peoria Pundit receives more than to 1,000 unique visitors a day and, on heavy news days, up to 2,000. I often receive more than 3,000 page views a day. The reason Peoria Pundit is the most heavily read blog in Central Illinois is because the site focuses exclusively on news, politics and media in the tri-County area, focusing on the City of Peoria.

But Site Meter typically undercounts page counts and visitors. This is the most recent graphic depicting my page views, via Urchin:

In terms of visitors per day, Peoria Pundit is one of the top citizen journalism sites in downstate Illinois. I share reciprocal links with dozens of other bloggers throughout Illinois and the United States. Peoria Pundit is one of four blogs listed in the Almanac of Illinois Politics 2006.

This site is read by decision makers and opinion leaders in city, county and state government; neighborhood activists; and media gatekeepers in both print and broadcast media. I was a weekly guest on WXCL, where I discussed Peoria politics. I’ve been interviewed by the BBC, WEEK, the Rockford Register Star, the Journal Star in Peoria. I write a column for the Community Word monthly newspaper. I was an election night consultant for WCBU-FM and have appeared as a guest on the station’s “Outside the Horseshoe” program. I was a guest speaker for the Western Illinois University chapter of the SDX. Through my site, I organize meetings of Peoria-area bloggers to discuss issues of the day and the practice of blogging.
